Babies can sit on their parents’ lap, while older children can sit on the dental chair while our dentists “count their teeth” or check their mouths. The dentists may also discuss feeding, oral hygiene and dietary issues. For children age 3 and beyond, the dentists will review their medical and dental history and address problems like tooth decay, thumb sucking and potential orthodontic issues. X-rays may be taken if necessary, and professional teeth cleaning will be performed. Sealants and fluoride are available for extra protection if the child is cavity-prone.
